Loro Crisps is on a mission to share the flavours of the tropical fields of the Urabã region of Colombia with the world, starting with a range of plantain and casava crisps.
Loro Crisps had developed a great product and had success in getting their product distributed in overseas markets. The aim for Loro Crisps is to develop and grow into a globally recognised brand, with global distribution.
ScaleUp 360 was ready to support Loro Crisps ambitions and matched the business with a Specialist Food Production Mentor who supported Loro in product costing, co-packing and manufacturing operations.
“By working closely with our adviser, who has vast experience in the food industry we have been working on preparing our crisps for the UK and worldwide supermarkets. Making sure the packaging is up to high standards and compliance with the law. This has been done thanks to the support from the ScaleUp 360 Team” Daniela Orrego, Loro Crisps Founder
Working collaboratively with the Specialist Mentor and the ScaleUp 360 product and packaging design delivery team, Loro Crisps was able to continue to develop their existing product and think about point of sale distribution boxes and the design of new product sizes/weights.
“We have also benefited from the ScaleUp 360 programme through funding our brand development. As a small start-up, funding is always something we lack and the programme helped us support the further development of new flavours branding which we are really excited to launch by the end of the year” Daniela Orrego, Loro Crisps Founder

“Finally, with the programme we have been able to have access to different mentors in the Sheffield Hallam i-Lab co-working space where we are based. This has helped us to solve day to day challenges and questions and helped us to focus on the bigger issues for the future of our company” Daniela Orrego, Loro Crisps Founder
