Laura’s Confectionery was founded in 2016, and is an experiential sweet shop that sits proudly in the new Yorkshire Hive shopping village at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster. From irresistible pick and mix favourites to handmade signature fudge, Laura’s Confectionery provides something sweet for all ages.

Laura and Harry started their journey in the world of confectionery whilst at university. They started selling handmade fudge at food festivals, shows and country fairs around the UK, showcasing the magic of what Laura’s Confectionery products are today.

“The magic of the sweet shop is something that we completely embody in our company. And our aim is to bring that into the modern day. Laura's is more than just a shop; it is an experience! We want every customer to have a memorable, joyous time in our store, and leave not only with the most luxurious confectionery around, but the happiest memories of being in Laura's!”

Inside the shop with a sign saying, Adventure awaits but first, sweats.

Laura’s Confectionery had a fantastic range of products and had not only established itself as a well-loved brand at The Yorkshire Wildlife Park, but was also experiencing rapid growth in its wholesale business.

Upon joining the ScaleUp 360 programme, Laura worked with our dedicated product and packaging design team, Design Futures based at Sheffield Hallam University, to launch a new range of products to market. Building upon the lovable mascots Phillip the pheasant, Hettie the hedgehog and Rupert the rabbit, Laura's Confectionery has captured the hearts of adults and children across the UK.

The ScaleUp 360 packaging design team presented initial concepts of work for detailed feedback and then worked closely with Laura to develop a chosen design for each product through to an approved design and then provided print ready artwork for production. The ScaleUp 360 team also built in a sustainability review into their design process, so the existing non-sustainable plastic pouches can be changed to recyclable plastic ones.

Since joining ScaleUp 360 last year, Laura’s Confectionery have now moved into their new beautiful shop in The Yorkshire Hive at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park which is a mix of local independent shops and boutiques where visitors may browse for artisan food and drink, delicious sweet treats and confectionery, homeware, cards and accessories. The Yorkshire Hive sits outside the main park entrance and no admission is required to visit the Yorkshire Hive shops and attractions.
